Don't waste today worrying about tomorrow!

J. ALEXANDER, I'M FORTY-SOMETHING!

Monday, February 6, 2012

If you get an opportunity to stop by the Washington Park Public Library, please check out "Blk-Art, History & Culture's tribute to "Black History Month" display. It will be up for the entire month of February.
I am still getting settled into my place and still missing Ebony, but forging ahead. I've completed the Workshop with "Our Next Generation" and waiting for a copy of the Article so that I can share the link with you. I am happy to report that "Blk-Art, History & Culture" has been asked to participate in the 2012 Black Knowledge Bowl. It's a competition among high school students who test their knowledge of "Black History" for prize money to help support their school. I wish them all "Good Luck." I am still trying to get back in the groove with my workouts. I've been attending a lot of meetings and doing other related things that are taking place during my normal workout time. I am trying not to sweat it. I realize life gets in the way sometimes and I will get back on track. I have enjoyed the mild winter this year. It feels like Spring and I can only hope that the rest of Winter continues to be mild!
I've got a couple of other things in the works, but don't have enough information to share just yet. I will be reading a couple "Children's books" at 2 different local public libraries this month. I am looking forward to it.
In the mean time- I know I am blessed so I will not complain and I will be grateful. I've gone back to the "NO CHEESE" deal while I am trying to juggle things and missing the workouts. No, I am not to concerned about Valentines Day with all it's tempting chocolates. I'm good! At "forty-something" I am doing my best to be as mindful as I possibly can about keeping "Ester" at bay.
Before I head out, I'd like to recommend a fabulous DVD called "The Black Power Mixtape 1967 to 1975" It is a fabulous documentary for anyone interested in Civil Rights footage. I give it 5 stars!
Life is good people. Check on your elderly neighbors and be kind to the homeless. Count your blessings! And P.S. Please support our President, he does deserve a 2nd term!
