Blk-Art, History & Culture is moving right along. I was blessed to be asked to give a Lunch Hour talk for a group about how to enjoy Blk-Art, History & Culture in your community all year round, not just during Black History Month. It was a very enjoyable experience. And again, I can hardly believe I get paid to do something I absolutely LOVE!!!!!
The Community News Paper article is still not available. I will post it as soon as it is. I am happy to report that the article made the front page and I am very excited about that! Working with the 2012 Black Knowledge Bowl is a wonderful learning experience. I am trying to soak it all up. Everything I do will only help me do a better workshop in the months to come. I've been getting a lot of enthusiastic feed back on the Black History Month installation at the Washington Park Public Library. Sad it will be coming down on March 1st. However, all the materials will be used again for the 2012 Black Knowledge Bowl "Information Stations." I also enjoyed the read in's I did for the children's Black History Month program at the public library. I read the Jacob Lawrence Migration Series at the last read in.
Had Sushi & Hot Sake for Valentine's Day! I do still struggle with my chocolate addiction, but doing pretty good. I am enjoying my new little spot. It is shaping up to be a smaller version of the flat. It may be small, but it has a ton of personality & charm and I just adore it!!!!! I also have a new doggy friend named Tucker who just turned a year old. I occasionally stop by to get some puppy love and take Tucker for a walk. He is so adorable. He's helping me deal with the loss of my sweet, sweet baby girl, Ms. Ebony. I still miss her so much. I know it's been 3 months, but my heart still aches at times. I've been struggling with my "workout" schedule, but have been managing to squeeze in a workout here and there. Staying away from cheese in the mean time.
All and all, life is moving forward and I feel so very Blessed. I'd like to give a shout out to Artist, Brad Anthony Bernard on receiving a 2012 "Black Excellence Award," Congratulations to you and all the other recipients.
Glad the daylight hours are getting longer. That means I'll soon be back at the seasonal gig and that spring is on the way!!!!!! So enjoy your blessings, look out for your elderly neighbors and the homeless. Remember to be kind and makes some body's day!
