Hi all. Lot's of changes. I've been learning a lot and trying to embrace the gifts. My seasonal position with the Brewers has been extended due to their Division Championship! It's a lot of fun seeing the fans all hyped up. Go Brew Crew. I've been hired by a small gallery I just know I am going to enjoy working for. One of the perks is free tickets to performances at the Marcus Center. I got tickets to see Wynton Marsalis. Love Wynton! I've been working less hours at the gym under the new management. I miss the core class, but doing my best to work the abs as much as possible. I've gained back 3 pounds, so I need to check myself before it becomes 10! I totally loved helping out with the "Community Arts & Funk Festival. It was so much fun and rewarding! I got my tye-dye t-shirt signed by several artist, including Artist & Sculptor, Richard Hunt (who I had the pleasure of hosting for the day). The "Blk-Art, History & Culture" Workshops were another highlight of the Summer for me. I totally enjoyed that whole experience. This Fall I am in the process of reaching out to and meeting with youth organizations to promote & facilitate the workshops during the school year. I would be thrilled! I've also met with the Wisconsin Black Historical Society to see if they'd be willing to loan me some artifacts for my "Black History Month" display at the Washington Park Library. They said yes! Love that too! Other parts of my life are going well too (smiling).
I thought I'd share a photo of one of my favorite sculptures. Enjoy. It's Shona Sculpture from Zimbabwe. Yep, I know it's time to pull out the sweaters and jackets people so get ready. Count your blessings and be grateful for what you have. Carry some spare change so you can help a homeless person out. Keep an extra pair of gloves or hat or sweater in the car so you can pass it on to the homeless person you see on the street. Trust me, the universe appreciates it!
