Happy 4th of July

Finally, another 3 day weekend! I've enjoyed every single minute of it. I've been blessed to have my 9 year old niece spend my weekend off with me (she's a mini me).

We ran our errands. The bank, the grocery store and watered the yard I work in. On Saturday we went to the family cookout, and then swimming, where I was able to lye in the sun and found a $20.00 bill in the pool! So after swimming we went to see "Toy Story 3" loved it! Unfortunately I Had to ask a woman (who was there with her children) to please either go into the lobby with her cell phone call or hang up, because she was disturbing everyone around her. Can you believe she actually had the nerve to be on the cell phone at the movies! You would think she would take the time to enjoy the movie with her children. We all know how I feel about the freaking cell phone!!!!!

Today we are relaxing after a fabulous breakfast and plan to watch the fireworks from my back porch tonight.
I've been working hard and a lot, but as I say, I enjoy my work so it's all good. Yes, there are times when I don't want to go to work, especially when I have 12 to 14 days in a row without a day off and work around the clock. But my work is an extension of who I am and in the end I am always glad that I pushed myself. I am blessed to work 2 jobs, sometimes 3. Some people have no job and wonder how they're going to make it from day to day-so I count my blessings.

I've been working hard to eat right and with my schedule have missed a number of workouts, but trust me I squeeze in as much exercise as I can. One thing of special note is that after reading an article on "Diet Soda" "this forty-something" will not be drinking diet soda. I understand now that the body does not recognize it as diet and metabolizes it as if it were regular soda. As hard as work on keeping the fat off of my forty-something body, I've been sabotaging myself repeatedly by drinking diet soda! I wanted to share this information with those who might not know this.
Life is good. Enjoy your blessings. And for goodness sake, hang up the freaking phone!!!!!!!!!
