Good Lord it's hot!!!! So freaking hot and starting to get muggy as well that I've completely shut down! Once in a while, especially after long stretches of work and a busy calendar, I shut down so I can "regroup". And with this stretch of hot weather now seems as good a time as any. I went to the library and picked out a few DVD's that had been on my list form the BBC. "Wives & Daughters" was one I've been wanting to see for the longest time and shutting down gave me the opportunity to watch the entire series. I loved it. I also got to watch "Coco Chanel", loved it as well, especially the fashions.
I know that I've mentioned this "forty-something" was having trouble reading the small print and finally went to the eye doctor and yes the glasses helped a grate deal, but I noticed during the NBA finals that I was having a difficult time recognizing the players running up and down the court and couldn't even read the score, so I finally decided it was time for a new television. Yes people, I broke down and bought a bigger screen and glad I did because I enjoyed my movies and can read the subtitles!
I worked out hard all week, but with the shutting down and the heat I haven't been to the gym all weekend. I'll be there first thing tomorrow. I am working on my running time getting ready for the MPS 5k Run-back-to-school fund raiser. This will be mine and my workout partners 3rd year and I so badly want to beat last years time. If anyone would like to participate, it takes place on August 28th. Go to http://www.mps.com/ for more information. Another important request from me to you is that on August 4th (the president's birthday) please wear anything "Obama" that you might have. A T-shirt, hat/cap, campaign button ect... to show your support for the President. There are to many hater's out there reeking havoc on whatever Obama is trying to do. I am sure it has a lot more to do with the issues at hand, but we won't even go there. Wear your Obama gear and let us wish the President a very "Happy Birthday" and pray for his safety while your at it-Thank You.
And finally, before I shut down, I hit the laundry mat, while the clothes were washing I hit the library to pick up my movies-so I come back to dry the laundry and this guy was there on his cell phone the entire time. What's wrong with that you ask???? He had the other party on Speaker!!!!!! They were swearing and talking about things I'd much rather not have been subjected to!!!! I kept quiet people. As much as it totally annoyed me, I am not the cell phone police. If I were he would have been charged with a Felony! At "forty-something" you have to know when to say when!
Relax people, enjoy some down time, yes you can turn off your cell! It's miserably hot, check on an elderly neighbor and remember August 4th show your support for the President.
