Yep, still love working at the Gallery and teaching Life Skills to my Pathways kids. They can be a handful sometimes, but they are really good kids and I want the best for every one of them. It's been a very busy time with me back in school. I am constantly on the move trying to get it all in. I had to drop my Latin History class. For some reason I've been unable to pass 3 test in row-do not ask me what's up with that, I couldn't tell you to save my life????? I am doing well in Theology, just finished a paper on the Book Of Genesis-The Creation, using the 8 panel series by artist, Jacob Lawrence. Really enjoyed writing that paper-unfortunately I had to write it at a very busy time and felt stressed trying to get it all done. I also had to buy a new car, the transmission finally gave out on the Mazda. I also "finally" joined a gym. I really had to. Trying to squeeze a workout in at the Senior Center wasn't cutting it and the WLC campus gym wasn't cutting it either. I am much more consistent with a gym membership, love the precore and enjoy my workouts.
For the most part things have been good. I finally got my hands on this painting, by artist Brad Anthony Bernard, I've been wanting for the past 2 years. I absolutely love it and will post a photo of it as soon as I get a good shot. This little cozy African Hut is really becoming home and I so enjoy coming in after a long day and being able to chill. I'm still clearing out things here and there, but have added a few small pieces of Japanese art. I've always enjoyed Japanese art, but ever since my visit to the Freer Gallery of Asian Art in DC I've been compelled to invest a few of my hard earned little dollars. It's only the first week of April and the art budget is maxed. I've sold my (to big for this space) brown leather sofa and replaced it with a micro fiber blush colored smaller sofa which fits the space perfectly! So the hut is even cozier.
I am looking forward to summer, but we need to actually get to spring first! This crazy Wisconsin weather doesn't know what it wants to do! I am going to be working on a plan for next summer this summer while working at the gallery, showing some rental space and hitting the gym. I've got the Pathways Summer Academy for 3 weeks and would love to hit up Chicago for a weekend but nothing to grand. I am committed to remaining free this summer-no commitments this summer, I've got a lot of ground to cover. I've been watching the Oscar winning and nominated movies with the very little downtime I've had, 12 Years A Slave, I purchased and watch,Fantastic film. From Netfilx, The Dallas Buyer's Club, fabulous and yes, Oscar winning performances. American Hustle, fabulous, Blue Jasmine, fabulous and yes a Oscar winning performance. My own Black Cinema Film Series with the Washington Park Library continues on April 19th (on a Monday) with Black Comics Super Heros.
I feel very blessed to live this life and do all the wonderful things I am able to do, God is good. Please be kind and be a blessing to someone else!!!!!
