It's hard to believe, but Summer is coming to an end. The first day of fall is Thursday. I've noticed the leaves falling and changing colors on my walks with my poochie. We will soon be raking leaves and then shoveling snow! I hope we'll get an Indian Summer before it's all said and done. Yes, I know I moaned and groaned about the heat & humidity. It was awful and I will not miss it! I will miss the long hours of daylight and the warmth of the sun.
I'm getting ready for the final work stretch on my seasonal job. I've had the last week off. I took my little get away (enjoyed every single minute of it). Went to an Art Festival and kudos to all the creative artist!!!! Much inspiration to work on the "Obama" collage. I found an Obama book mark that I've been carrying with me in my date book and a hardcover coffee table book of Obama newspaper headlines from around the world! Totally love that find! Had Sushi and Lot's of Hot Sake with a friend. Found some beautiful Aisan fabric hand fans, which are perfect for the "Hot Flashes." So beautiful I bought 4 of them, unfortunately, I already lost one. I Loaded Lot's of my favorite music onto my new IPod Touch and love, love, love working out to my favs! Yes, I've been hitting the gym as much as I possibly can and still leading the Ab/core class. The class dwindled for a minute, but it's coming on strong again. Don't give up!
I am still not doing the diet sodas and have finally eased my craving for Ben & Jerry's "Cherry Garcia" ice cream. I haven't kicked the habit, but I think can live without it for a while. At "Forty-something" not only do you have to understand the concept "Everything in Moderation" you literally have to practice it!!!!!!!!!!!
Despite the horrible heat & humidity, I've had a beautiful summer, a beautiful birthday and again want to say thank you to everyone as I continue to enjoy many of the gifts. Life is sweet and I am so blessed and grateful. Remember "Treat People the way you want to be Treated", be kind to the homeless, check on your elderly neighbors and donate to the food banks & women's shelters. Take some time enjoy your blessings. Many people whine about what they don't have and forget to be thankful for what they do have.
Next up, the Milwaukkee Film Festival. Check it out. September 23rd thru October 3rd. http://www.milwaukee-film.org/
