Don't waste today worrying about tomorrow!

J. ALEXANDER, I'M FORTY-SOMETHING!

Saturday, February 13, 2010

It's a Saturday afternoon and I am getting ready to hit the gym. All you other forty somethings meet me there. Face it ladies. We have to work out a little harder and more often if we want to stay in shape. We can't eat like we use to and do nothing, plus just think of all the health benefits you get from working out!

I've loaded my MP3 player with lot's of the music I like, got my towel, water bottle and an apple for after my work out. Hope you forty somethings will join me.

  1. Ok J, I'm right there w/you on all of that! I got sized for bra last yr, it showed the cup I was currently wearing was 2 big. Tried a smaller cup & theres an issue w/sides, that make me think its 2 little, so I'm back to my original size cup, go figure! I'm dealing w/ being out of a job, after working @ same job for 20 yrs, not being able to fully support myself, having to ask/depend on others to do for me that a year ago I cld do without thinking about it and leaving the home I had lived in for over 18 yrs, because I could not afford it, you think I can wrap my head around all of this & deal with the day to day?!!!!

  2. That's "A LOT" on your plate V. You know I know! We are resourceful woman. I always say the toughest part of bad situations is "the journey through them" Just getting to the other side of the tough part is the toughest part. What really helped me through my tough times was hitting the gym and eating healthy. I figured if I can't control all the other stuff, I could either get lost in the situation or work on myself while I am working my way to the other side of the situation. I couldn't contorl the other stuff-it was out of my hands, but I could get up and go to the gym. I always, always, always felt better afterwards, because I felt like I did something productive, something good for myself. Then I'd make myself a fabulous little meal and eat it on fancy dishes, drink out of a fancy wine glass, linen napkin, light a candle. After my shower, I slather myself with scented body butter and paint my toe nails. I know things are tough sometimes, but you can still be good to yourself. You desreve it, you're worth it and who knows what's going to happen tomorrow. Hang in there babe!!!!

  3. Thanks for the inspiration, J. You know I"m going to the gym, but I don't get that "brand new" feeling that others say they get when they go. I will continue to go, because if nothing else I'm not gaining weight. Church give me the feeling, you get from the gym. When I go I do feel renewed & of course it helps my mindset. Oh, by the way just got through showing Al the exercise you showed me on the bench, thats supposed to help my ab, thighs and derriere! Have a good wk. My wkend was good so I'm looking for the same from my week!
