J. ALEXANDER, I'M FORTY-SOMETHING!

Another birthday!

Well I've celebrated another "forty-something" birthday and would like to thank everyone for their phone calls, birthday cards, text messages and the lovely and thoughtful gifts! Someone even got me cake. It was a very special birthday!

I was able to see "Eat, Pray, Love" and I did enjoy it, but the book was so much better to me. I'd recommend you read the book first then see the movie. The MPS run is coming up and as I've been unable to work out (only once in the last week, but still managed the Ab/Core class) I am hoping to make good time; however if I do not beat last years time I won't be to hard on myself and it looks like the weather is going to be good. That is in my favor. Actually it's a major plus as the "Hot Flashes" seem to be reeking havoc. I really do not want to complain, but good Lord are they ever going to stop?????????????

I watched a special on the 5 year anniversary of "Hurricane Katrina." It literally brought me to tears. I want to remind people to please, please, please be kind to one another. Check on your elderly neighbors, assist the homeless, make donations to the food pantries and shelters, give whatever you can. Count your blessings. You never know, you might need a hand one day. I know I sound like a broken record, but I feel it's important. We take so much for granted. I remember not to long ago we had a really bad thunder storm and the power went out for a couple of hours. I felt so inconvenienced, after watching that anniversary special and thinking about the homeless in this miserable, awful, muggy heat I should be ashamed of myself! Especially with all my blessings.

So please be kind and be grateful! Wish me luck on the MPS run. And again everyone, thank you so much for a very pleasant "forty-something" birthday!
